Youth 2030 Cities Project & Sustainability Week Accra

As a Youth Facilitator for the Youth 2030 Cities Project in Ghana, I demonstrated commitment to the New Urban Agenda, working with my co-facilitator at YRE Ghana and the UN-Habitat team, training youth leaders to engage in city-wide assessment and planning of SDG localisation. I helped mobilize close to 150 Youth all across the country to engage in the SDG localisation agenda and coordinated inputs for the Urban Youth DeclarATION Accra- which collected key demands from youth on how to effectively address local sustainability challenges

As co-Founder – Sustainability Week Accra – The Sustainability Week project is the first of its kind in the region aimed at promoting sustainable lifestyles and turning university students into sustainability role models in Ghana. Since 2019, we have had a tremendous impact on over 6,000 students at the University of Ghana. Our success in promoting and implementing sustainability practices at the University has led to the project being replicated at three other universities in Ghana, as well as other West and East African universities. In 2020, the Week was supported by the Swiss Development Cooperation through the Swiss Embassy in Ghana. We were also recognised by the Global Climate University Forum led by Yale Sustainability in 2021
